Cool Things: 2017 and 2018

One of the things I’m not good at is short blog posts. So this time, I’m going to keep it short and sweet by listing the great stuff I tried out this year, and the things I want to try out in the coming year!

Cool Things I Tried in 2017

• Doing a weekly season schedule for The Paid to Play Podcast.
• Shutting The Paid to Play Podcast down.
• Recording a podcast wherein some friends and I play the Deathwatch RPG (Only In Death: The Secret Mission Logs of Kill-team Atromitos).
• Introducing a group of friends to Dungeons & Dragons.
• Starting a Starfinder campaign with another group of friends.
• Creating an Open Legend group based on a Twitter challenge.
• Engaging a coach to help me put a side-hustle (freelance casual job) together.
  • Trying podcast editing as my side hustle.
• Changing my social media branding to “Radio Rob”.
• Doing voice performance work.
  • Becoming the voice of Miles “Robin Hood” Austen for Birdy & Mike Diamond’s Arrows In Flight universe.
  • Entering a podcast competition with my fictional advertisement spots (I won!).
  • Having a spur-of-the-moment recording used as promotion for a podcast.
• Re-working our vegetable beds in the back yard.
• Using Trello as an organising tool. (Thanks again, Tracey and Britt!)
• Doing a regular Thursday live stream on Instagram.
• Doing Shameless Maya’s Shameless (social media self-promotion) Challenge.
• Doing an Instagram growth challenge.
• Getting back into playing Xbox games.

Cool Things I Want To Try in 2018

• Get into an organisation routine.
• Get into a daily body-and-mind health routine.
• Make a go of voice performance services, ideally for audiobooks.
• Live stream more often.
  • Play Alien: Isolation’s Survivor modes.
  • Read H. G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds.
• Create at least one more season of Only In Death, completing the Final Sanction arc.
  • Create a Patreon page for Only In Death.
• Entertain my Starfinder crew with more starships-and-spellcasters action.
• Introduce another group of mates to Dungeons & Dragons.
• Get all our vege beds growing properly.
• Learn to really, seriously cook.
• Maybe re-try the Shameless Challenge (now that I have a better idea of what I’m doing).
