This strip is inspired by the work of Croatian artist and writer Stjepan Sejic, whom I first stumbled across on DeviantArt. I’m not the only one to recognise his talent; he’s creating whole comic books for Top Cow, including a run on one of their key titles, Witchblade. He’s even created his own spinoff, Twitch, which Top Cow are going to release under the name Teen Witchblade next year.

I am very tempted to get in on it when it comes out, because I love Stjepan’s sense of humour. Case in point: The direct inspiration for this strip, “Tony Stark – epic douche.”

Lessons Learned for Next Time

• Oooh boy! Colours! I had to colourise the main panel just to make sure you can see how much of Pepper’s suit is actually bare skin. Doing the other three panels was too much like hard work for now, but I might go back and do them later…
• The dialogue doesn’t feel quite “on,” if you know what I mean. If not, and you laughed anyway, groovy!

Awesome Stuff I Can’t Wait to Try Again

• This was originally a straight, four equal boxes on landscape A4 comic, but I’d done the third frame on its own page and realised I had way too much detail to scale down! Re-arranging everything was pretty easy, though!
• Women in powered armour! 🙂
